10 on 10

I saw this idea on a friend's blog and thought it would be a cute way to remember the everyday moments that make up our life. 

 

 

 

10 Photos:

1 photo every hour for 10 hours

on the 10th of the month

 

7:30am: everyone's awake and playing with toys

 

 8:30am: breakfast time

 

 

9:30am: Preston is napping, Grant watches Cat in the Hat, I rake leaves and pull weeds in the yard.

 

 10:30am: I read two chapters of Stuart Little to Grant while Preston is still snoozing.

 

11:30am: Time to go grocery shopping and as you can tell, this is not our favorite activity.

 

12:30pm: Lunch time! Sorry no picture. Just imagine the breakfast one all over again. =)

 

1:30pm: Boiling eggs and doing some early dinner preparations.

2:30pm: Preston is asleep again, Grant is having quiet time, I'm paying bills online, returning emails, and looking up recipes.

 

3:30pm: Reading together in Grant's room which doubles as our library since all our kid books are in there.

 

4:30pm: Getting dinner ready--homemade tomato basil soup, grilled cheese sandwiches, and boiled eggs.

 

5:30pm: Attempting a photo shoot of a very wiggly one-year-old. And Grant wants to be in every picture so that adds to the fun. =)

 

6:30pm: Bath time for both boys which they love. And more water ends up outside of the tub than inside.

 

7:30pm: Ahhh, peace! Kids are in bed, house is clean, toys are put away. Now it's time for me to work on my Beehive lesson and relax a bit. 

Remembering to take a photo every hour of the day is harder than it sounds. =)



All in a Year

It's incredible to see the progression of change all in the first year.

The one year pictures were so difficult to take. Preston would not sit still for anything! Just another testament to how fast they change, develop, and grow.  =)



The Fourth of July

 We spent nearly a week up at our family cabin in Greer, AZ from July 1-5th. It was a full household with eventually 9 adults and 8 kids (ages 8 and younger). I hadn't seen my sister and fam in 16 months so it was high-time. Of course it was hectic and crazy with so many under one roof but we expected that. It was also really fun and we made happy memories together. Unfortunately, since Sean just started a new job 2 weeks prior, he couldn't join us for the vacation. We missed him tremendously but filled our days with fun things and made the best of it. We enjoyed...

• dance parties with the ipad
• painting/art projects
• digging in the dirt
• casual chatting
• picnics
• wading in the streams
• swimming/rafting in the lake
• celebrating Preston's actual birthday (lucky duck got another cake)
• throwing rocks in the pond
• and of course, the small-town parade and festivities on the fourth!

 

 

Happy Birthday America!!

My Baby is One

 

Our sweet little Preston turned one year old on July 2nd. We celebrated a couple days early since we'd be out of town on his actual birthday. Unfortunately there were record-breaking, high temperatures on the day of the party but we had fun nonetheless. We enjoyed dinner together, swimming at grandma's, cake, and presents.

I just love the pure joy on his face when he saw this gift---a soft, stuffed, animal we named floppy.

Happy Birthday my little one. Oh how daddy and I adore you! We absolutely love you and feel like you've been with us much longer than a year. Your smile and giggle light up our lives!
