I'M DONE!!!!

I just finished my 226 hour capstone internship in labor and delivery! It was a great experience and I learned so much. Last week I had the chance to mentor another nursing student (a year behind me) which was quite neat. I realized how much I really do know and it built my confidence when I taught her how to do things and answered all her questions. As a student you feel like you'll never really be a nurse but reality is about to hit. I graduate in a few weeks and then I'm on my own. I'm in the process of trying to figure out where I want to work. There are lots of opportunities and here's how I'm doing so far...
  • I've applied to 6 different jobs
  • I've had one interview
  • I have 3 interviews scheduled
  • I received 1 full-time job offer but I declined

Well I have some big decisions ahead of me and it's kind of scary and kind of exciting all at the same time. It's weird to be at this point where I'm looking for a job. I remember my first day at BYU (four years ago) I went to a pre-nursing informational meeting and my mom was there too since she drove up to Utah to drop me off at school. I left the meeting and when I got out I started crying because I was so scared and overwhelmed with the thought of trying to get into the nursing program. I didn't think I could manage it. And now I can't believe I'm done. Time flies and a lot happens in four years. Sorry for the ramblings. I guess I'm feeling kind of sentimental right now. Well I should head off to bed. Adios amigos.

Easter Time Fun

Last night we had a triple date at our house with some good friends. We decided to dye easter eggs, have dessert, and play games. It was a lot of fun.

Here is everyone (except Sean, he's taking the picture) from L to R: Erin, Kenley, Kimball, Shelley, and me.
Here we were having "egg wars" where you each take a hard-boiled egg and then you bonk them against each other and whomever's egg dents is the looser. The one that stays normal is the winner. This was intense but I won 2 out of 3. =)

Shelley and Kimball trying the same thing. Shelley and I are in nursing together and will graduate next month. Kimball and Sean were friends in their single's ward.

Erin and Kenley modeling their lovely creations. They are getting married in 6 weeks. Kenley and Kimball are brothers. Thanks for coming everyone--it was a fun Friday night activity.

BYU Baseball Game

Last week we went to BYU's first home baseball game of the season. It was a fun environment and I love the scenery of the mountains. It was a little chilly but we still had a great time. Unfortunately we didn't catch any fly balls, too bad.

These are Sean's buddies Ryan and Dallin. We've all been friends since junior high. It was great to get together with them.

President's Day Fun

Over President's Day weekend Sean and I drove three hours south to Kannaraville (near Cedar City) to spend the weekend at his grandparent's. Sean's family drove up from Arizona and met us there just for fun. We played games, ate good food, had fun chatting and catching up, and went tubing at Brian Head Ski Resort. We love being with our family!!!
Ok so we don't look like hip, cool, avid ski-resort-goers but we stayed warm and had a really fun day at Brian Head. It was great to be with Sean's family and enjoy the weekend together. Ever since our trip to the Caribbean I'm known as the sun-screen advocate. I bring it on all our trips and it pays off. No burns anymore!! (Getting burned in the snow is just as easy as at the beach.)

These were the awesome slopes that we tubed down. They made you go head first so you could drag your feet behind you for resistance. You can't really tell how steep these slopes were but it was pretty scary at first. After one time down it was really a lot of fun. You really get going super fast because the slop is perfectly smooth. We all enjoyed the afternoon a lot.

This is the lift where you flop on your tub, they hook you up to the pulley, and up you go to the top of the mountain.
