2-Year Photo Shoot

I had lofty hopes of taking some nice, 2-year pictures of Preston. I even went to the (used) kids store and bought him an outfit for it. Well it didn't happen. There was no decent place inside to take a picture and it was way too muggy and warm outside. I gave up and we played in the hose instead. The boys loved it and that's the most important part.

Preston had his 2-year well-check this week. Shockingly, he was so amazing at the doctor's office. He didn't cry or fuss once. He let her poke and prod and listen to his heart and lungs and didn't even move. He got one vaccine and watched the nurse put it in his arm and didn't even wince. I guess he's one tough cookie. Here are his stats.

Height: 35.25 inches (78%)
Weight: 27.4 pounds (41%)
Head: 20.5 inches (off the charts)

He's healthy and strong and talking a lot. He passed all the developmental tests and is negative on all the autism tests. So grateful for that! Love our crazy Preston boy!

Fourth of July

We had a nice fourth of July holiday. We dressed in our red, white, and blue and then went out to breakfast with mom, Steve, Adam, and Christine.
We smiled a lot.

We gave lots of love.
And then later we enjoyed swimming and barbequing at Glenn and Norine's. It was a great day. We enjoyed being together as a family. We don't get much time with Sean so this was a special weekend.

My Baby is Two

My baby Preston turned two on July 2nd.! He's talking so much now, repeating everything that Grant says. He is a sweetie who loves hugs and lullabies but he sure can be feisty and loves to throw things. He always says "hi baby" to his little sister and loves playing with his older brother.

We started the day by opening a couple gifts with Sean before he headed off to work.

Then we got ready for the day

Then we went to breakfast with Grandma Norine. The kids' favorite part was the orange juice. They love their drinks! My kids could survive on an all-liquid diet and be perfectly happy. =)

Then we went to a kids summer movie at Harkins. We saw Epic which I had never heard of before. We lasted 30 minutes. With a 4-year-old who thought it was too loud, a 2-year old who loved running the aisles, and a new baby who wasn't sleeping in her car seat (like I had planned), I'd say 30 minutes was pretty good. =)

Later that evening, Sean got home and we had dinner, sang happy birthday, and ate sugar cookies.

Then we went outside and played with Preston's new soccer ball for a bit.

We celebrated again on Saturday with an Elmo birthday party. Here are the decorations. We enjoyed Elmo cupcakes (which Preston still talks about), lemonade, and ice cream.

I made these myself and I'm happy to report that my mom thought I bought them from a bakery. That means they look legit right?

Preston got lots of love and attention from his family.

And Grant was so excited for the party. He told me the night before, "Mom, I just don't think I'll be able to sleep tonight because I can't wait for Preston's party."

We played a Sesame Street Memory game that I made. The kids enjoyed it.

The birthday boy is sporting a new shirt (which he never gets because of the good ole' hand-me-downs from Grant) and a new backpack.
We had a blast. I love celebrating my little ones. They are precious to me and Sean. Preston has gone from a fussy, colicky newborn to a sweet, smart, and tricky little toddler. Love you Pres!!
