Lucky #13

We are so happy to be 13 weeks along with our second child. Baby is due July 19, 2012. I feel extremely blessed and grateful to be pregnant again, however, it has been pretty tough. I have been so sick since week 5 (started at week 8 with Grant's pregnancy) and it has just started to ease up. Woo hoo!!! All day nausea but rarely throwing up (minus the food poisoning part) has been my life. Also, I was shocked to realize how fatigued I could be, even after 8+ hours of sleep at night I feel so tired. Let's just say I've felt like a bad mom and wife the past couple months as it's been so hard for me to be actively playing with Grant and impossible to make dinner (let alone open the fridge and smell that fridgy smell-yuck). I try not to complain much and just be so happy that all these symptoms are a good sign and there will be a prize at the end.

I've had two ob appointments and one ultrasound so far. Everything looks great with baby and the heartbeat is strong. This photo was taken the day I found out. So happy!! I waited all day to tell Sean when he came home from work. I couldn't think of anything exciting to do for the announcment so I just taught Grant how to say "big brother" and then he said it for Sean.
This ultrasound was a month ago so the baby was more like a gummy bear and less babyish. I think it's a girl because this pregnancy has been so different from Grant's. Sean thinks it's a boy. We will see who's right next month.

24 Months

Grant is OBSESSED with trucks right now. If I had a dollar for everytime I heard him say the words "big truck" I would be a millionaire.

Our boy is 24 months old and with that comes another well-baby visit. He hated it as usual and screamed the moment the medical assistant or doctor would open the door. Hopefully Grant will move past his stranger/doctor's office anxiety soon. Here are his current stats...

Height: 36 inches (85%)

Weight: 26 lbs. 2 oz. (with clothes and diaper on) (25%

Head: 19.75 inches (85%)

All is healthy and well for which we are so grateful.

What a Week!!!

  • Sean flies to Mexico on business

  • Find out Sean's sweet Grandpa Oborn passed away unexpectedly in Salt Lake City

  • Sean flies back from Mexico

  • One doctor's appt for me (at which I had to wait for an hour and a half to see the doc)

  • One doctor's appt for Grant (stats are coming in another post)

  • Sean takes his 3rd of 4 CPA exams (4 tests, 4 hours each--huge deal)

  • Pack up and drive to Utah

  • Get food poisoning from Subway on the way up

  • All three of us barfing and so, so sick (I spent the whole night on the bathroom floor at the hotel in Kanab. It was beyond awful. I thought I was going to die.)

  • Attend a beautiful viewing and funeral for our Grandpa whom we love so much

  • Pack up and fly home (thank goodness we got to fly)

  • Argue with a very rude flight attendant for how I was dealing with my barely 2-year old child who by federal law had to sit in his own seat with his seat belt on the entire flight!

  • We're home, we barely survived. It's nap time now!!!

Look Who's Two!!!

I can't let this day end without saying a big "happy birthday" to my little man I love so much. Happy Birthday Grant!! I can't believe you're already two. What an exciting new years we had two years ago. I will think of you every January 1st at 12:03 am. This little boy just lights up our lives with his nonstop talking, smiles, hugs, and kisses. I am so happy to be his mommy and it feels like he's been in our family way longer than 2 years.

We had a family birthday party on Dec. 31st since his actual birthday was on a Sunday (today). Our theme was "Come Have a Ball" and everything had to do with balls and sports. Grant loves playing catch and enjoys throwing any type of ball.

We kept it simple with cupcakes, ice cream, and ice water. There are plenty more birthdays to go all out on the food right?

Grant got this hoop from Santa this year and enjoyed playing in front of an audience.

When it came time for candles he did pretty well and kept trying to blow them out. His lungs weren't quite strong enough though. Next year I'm sure he'll get it.

We also enjoyed some sparklers outside. Grant sure loved those "pretty lights".

I just can't get enough smooches from my little boy. Grant you've grown so fast and we love you to the moon and back. Happy New Year!
