Swimming Lessons

Grant recently finished his first official session of swim lessons. His class was called the Shrimps and it taught the very basics (entering, exiting, wading, blowing bubbles, dunking your head, back float, kicking, and paddling). Grant was scared the first day and wanted me in the water with him. But after only a few minutes he warmed up to his sweet teacher, Miss Larissa, and did great at all eight lessons. By the end he could float on his back all by himself, jump into the water, kick his feet, and paddle his arms (still struggles doing both of those at the same time). I'd say we've made progress. Here's to many, many more summers of swim lessons!

My brave boy jumping off to his teacher.

On the very last day the kids got to go down this tiny slide.

The shrimps class: Aubrey, Ethan, and Grant (They had just gotten out of the water and were shivering in the wind. It didn't occur to me to dry him off first. =)

Fun in May

These are just a few phone pictures that captured some fun times in May. The photos are horrible but I still want to remember the events.

On Memorial Day we went to Denny's for Breakfast with cousins and grandparents.

I love this face Lucas is making. Such a sweetie.

Sean took Grant to the fathers and sons campout and it's their tradition to eat at "Old McDonald's" (as Grant calls it) in Payson on the way up. Grant loves this special time with daddy.

Preston got some love from Grandma Oborn while she was down for Natalie's graduation.

Grant discovered that it is fun to feed his little brother. If only it weren't so messy.

My sweet Grandma Ruth finally had to be moved out of her own home and into an assisted living facility. This was her last day at her house. We have many good memories here.

And here's my little butterball. Not a single roll on him but still a solid, heavy guy. I guess he's a little top-heavy but I'm sure that means he'll be super smart since his head is quite large.

Grant got to go on a special date with Grandma Norine and they went to Chucky Cheese. (Grant calls it Chunky Cheese.) He had a blast of course and loved the one-on-one time with grandma.

We had fun last week at a little birthday party for cousin Benson. It was outside with tons of water toys, capri suns, and cupcakes--what more could Grant ask for!

11 Months

My baby is 11 months old this week. He has such a personality now and can let us know what he wants. He has 2 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom and has a full head of thick hair. Grant loves when Preston wakes up in the morning, he runs into his bedroom, jumps into his crib, and they giggle and squeal until I come in to get them. These boys are lots of work but so much fun too!!
