The Cabin

Last month we enjoyed a week at grandma's cabin up in Greer. Oh how we love that place! So many wonderful memories. Dave came down from Seattle, Matt and Mary drove from Oklahoma, and Adam and I (and families) came from Gilbert. It was a blast. The weather was heavenly with temps in the 60s and 70s. I enjoyed seeing my siblings and playing games and laughing!

I am so sad that the cabin must be sold now that grandma has passed away. But I will cherish that place always. Cousins go here and become best friends.

Olivia's Nursery

I am not a fan of having my infants sleep in my room. I don't sleep well because I hear every little stir and squeak. Olivia slept in the pack and play in our room for about one month and then I was ready to have her move out. We moved Preston into Grant's room so now that's the "boy's room". Preston is still in his crib and I love it that way. He naps well and can't get out at night/early in the morning. None of my kids have ever climbed out of their crib--hallelujah. So that being said, this little lady needed a room of her own.

I feel like I just decorated this room in grey, blue, and yellow for Preston but that was two years ago. Here is the "before" shot...

and here it is now for Olivia. I left the walls the same (the pic was taken at night so the lighting is totally different) and we gussied up everything else.

My mom helped with the valence, the ottoman slip cover, and the diaper stacker. I repainted the picture frames, the wall clock, the dresser, and the embroidery hoops.

This is the same chair with a pink, chenille blanket as the "slip cover". The rug and pillows are new from ikea.

The diaper stacker that is a beast to sew.

We needed a bow holder so I looked for ideas online and came up with this. An old frame painted, chicken wire, fabric, and small hooks--not too difficult.
I really liked Preston's yellow and blue nursery and I worked hard on it but it was time to change it up and I'm really happy with the result. I love my girl room and my boys room. The boys are doing well together and they like not being alone at night. I still can't believe I have three little ones now. I feel like I was just in high school but our graduation was a whopping 10 years ago! Time flies!
