I'm so excited that spring is here. The weather is lovely and I enjoy going outside on walks. Grant is quite interactive these days. I love seeing him smile and hearing little, tiny giggles. I start back to work this week and I can't believe that 12 weeks has already come and gone. I'm nervous and I feel like I've forgotten everything. Hopefully it'll all come back to me like riding a bike. I'm sad that I have to work both Saturday and Sunday of conference weekend. What a bummer! Here are a few pictures of the latest happenings in the Oborn household.

Moving on Up
Grant went to his 2-month pediatrician's appointment yesterday (even though he's 2.5 months old). I guess this boy is eating pure cream. Here are the stats to prove it...
Weight: 14 pounds exactly (81st percentile) At 2 weeks old his weight was the 19th percentile.
Length: 23.75 inches (58th percentile)
Head: 16.22 inches (62nd percentile)
The doctor advised us to do more tummy time with Grant so his head can mold properly. He hates it but we do it anyway. After he cries for about 10 minutes he realizes he might be there for a while so he might as well enjoy it. This is what happens--he sticks his bum up in the air and falls asleep.

His cheeks serve as a great pillow.
I'd like to give a quick shout out to a company called "Baby So Elegant." They make binky clips, bracelets, and necklaces. The gal who runs it is my sister's friend in Ohio. She makes the items by hand and the proceeds go to a great cause. Please check out her website at

We only use the soothie binkies with Grant and none of the store-bought clips work with those. That's one reason I'm so happy with this personalized clip from Baby So Elegant. Isn't it cute?

Blessing Day and more
Last Sunday, March 14th, Grant was given a name and a blessing in our sacrament meeting. It was a sweet experience which I will never forget. Grant was awake and silent throughout the blessing. After the blessing he got a little fussy and I took him out to feed him. We were blessed to have many of Sean's family in attendance to support us. Grant's cute blessing outfit fit him well and was nice and warm on that cold, snowy day. He's such a good baby and we both love him so much. Sean will randomly tell me, "I love Grant so much." We are happy we get to learn and grow together as an eternal family.

The Many Faces of Grant
My sister pointed out to me that in nearly every picture I've posted, Grant has the same expression on his face: mouth hanging wide open and big, wide, eyes. I didn't notice until she said something. Grant has many expressions throughout the day but for some reason, all the camera captures is the same one. Grant was very happy this morning so I got my camera out to see what expressions I could capture. Here they are Laura. =)

"I'm 2 months old today!"
Our son is two months old today and I just can't believe it. He is smiling and interacting more than ever. He doesn't mind diaper changes anymore and spends his awake time quite happy and content. He has slept through the night more but it isn't 100% consistent yet. Unfortunately, Grant's projectile vomitting has increased this past week so we took him to the pediatrician. There we found out this big boy now weighs 11 pounds 12 ounces. Wow what a chunker. We love him so much. I am so happy to be his mommy. This has been a challenging but wonderful 2 months for me.
