Grant recently finished his first official session of swim lessons. His class was called the Shrimps and it taught the very basics (entering, exiting, wading, blowing bubbles, dunking your head, back float, kicking, and paddling). Grant was scared the first day and wanted me in the water with him. But after only a few minutes he warmed up to his sweet teacher, Miss Larissa, and did great at all eight lessons. By the end he could float on his back all by himself, jump into the water, kick his feet, and paddle his arms (still struggles doing both of those at the same time). I'd say we've made progress. Here's to many, many more summers of swim lessons!
My brave boy jumping off to his teacher.
On the very last day the kids got to go down this tiny slide.
The shrimps class: Aubrey, Ethan, and Grant (They had just gotten out of the water and were shivering in the wind. It didn't occur to me to dry him off first. =)
